Introspect

November 14, 2010
Our little boy has been doing things lately that are challenging for us first-time parents. He is turning three in 2 weeks but we are still first-time parents and will forever be until we have another child. Brandon is into going back and forth saying yes and no to the same question, disagreeing with instructions and testing our reactions, and practicing his independence and decision making that require PATIENCE. It is not all the time but it is a lot of times. For me and hubby with differing parenting style and take on things, the last month or so have been a continuous learning experience.

Regardless, I am still a doting, patient, loving, understanding mother beyond my husband's comprehension. We are at this stage of our marriage where we have a lot of arguments/discussion surrounding our son. Last night, while hubby and I were having our daily bonding time, I had to say it --- we have to believe that this is a phase in which we can only do our best and try as hard as we can. We must have the ability to stay outside the bubble, stay in love and connected not only with each other but with our son... CONSTANTLY.

Falling in love, marrying each other, and now raising a son ... yes honey, we are in for a life-long, much more meaningful journey ahead. The best thing about this is we are doing it together --- threegether actually. Brandon, the mere three years in him, is doing his best to learn, adjust, discover who he is, and we take a big part in this process; bittter and sweet, highs and lows, we are all in it together.

I love you little B and Big B.
