In an effort to spend time outside of the house but avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes, I brought our little Brandon to the library yesterday. He can't stop saying library. We spent almost 3 hours of our time there. They have renovated the layout and the second floor is now dedicated to children, which means we can make noise there!. When we got to the information table on the second floor, Brandon readily started a conversation with the librarian and all I can understand is library. The librarian just kept saying Yes, Really, Sure. We perused the books but Brandon's attention was on the puzzles. We did that for a while until we hit the kitchen area. O-M-G. It is a mini kitchen with a fridge, oven, and sink. I played pretend with Brandon and I can't believe my eyes how he played along with me. There were plastic veggies and fruits so Brandon kept washing, cooking, and then storing them in the fridge. We found a ladel so we did a lot of stirring too. At one point, there were other girls his age that got curious but seemed too shy to play with Brandon because he was just babbling so much. But, lo and behold. We found him a match. A lovely indian girl his age who babbled as much as he did. The girl's mom read newspaper while her dad and I watched both of them. I was so happy and proud and did not really know why.

On our way out, I grabbed 3 DVDs of Thomas the Train to see what the hype is all about this character. When we got home and started watching them, the version that I got was not even cartoon. There is narration while wooden trains chug along and small "dolls" of people in a small caricature of a city change scenes. It was nothing compared to Chuggington. I wonder if I grabbed the "wrong" Thomas the Train.

Meantime, I really think that Brandon loved the library. I have brought him there several times when he was younger but this is the first time I really got a reaction from him. Raising a two-year-old is a LOT of fun. Amazing times ahead!
